With every year of life that goes by, the summer season seems to get shorter and shorter. I know that’s not the case, but it sure feels like it’s true. Maybe it’s because we are packing more activity into those 90 days than ever before. It also might be that we tend to accomplish a lot in the summer while the longer days also allow for more personal time outdoors and doing things that we enjoy.
As the long days fade and the year starts drawing to a close, it can be easy to lose some of your momentum. Yet, there is still a lot that can be accomplished during this time of year – personally and professionally. Here are a few inspirational quotes to keep the fire you built during the summer until winter arrives.
Despite appearances there is energy under the surface …
“Anyone who thinks fallen leaves are dead has never watched them dancing on a windy day.”
– Shira Tamir
… and what you worked so hard on early in the year is just now coming to fruition …
“Unless a tree has borne blossoms in spring, you will vainly look for fruit on it in autumn.”
– Walter Scott
… making it the perfect time to start preparing again for the year to come …
“The spring, summer, is quite a hectic time for people in their lives, but then it comes to autumn, and to winter, and you can't but help think back to the year that was, and then hopefully looking forward to the year that is approaching.”
– Enya
… letting go of what doesn’t bring you happiness …
“Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go.”
– Unknown
… and building optimism through a positive attitude.
“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.”
– Albert Camus
Fall just began on Monday, but there is no time to waste. Winter is right around the corner, so be sure to make the most of autumn while it is in all of its glory.
